Another perfect blue-skied sunny day in Lira. The team had a very full program teaching neonatal resuscitation, paediatric resuscitation, management of Burns and Sepsis and more ultrasound practice. In addition we attended a meeting with the University staff to look at the equipment and drug requirements of the new university hospital.
The students are an amazing group. Some having to leave their families for months and struggle with fees and living costs to do their training. They also have a great sense of humour. I had the whole group of year 4 students in Hysterics when Sim Junior (child model for resuscitation) lost his trousers during demonstration of the Heimlich manoeuvre!
Down – time this evening included a very welcome cold Tusker beer followed by a visit to a local restaurant
